Connecting Young People, Connecting Across Communities, Working Together, Living Together
The National Youth Agency are working with Walsall for All to bring together young people from across Walsall to talk about the issues and problems they face in their communities. We’re hoping these honest, open discussions in our consultation events will give light to solutions from young people that could help tackle these issues.
Youth participation is such an important value in youth work which can have a huge impact on communities. Young people have the right to be heard, and whether this right is valued or not, their views have the power to create change. We’re currently seeing a shift in the UK with young people filling more youth governance roles to have their voices heard (encouraged by large funding programmes and bodies) whilst an ever-increasing number of young people are taking part in global activism to raise awareness and increase action on the climate emergency.
In Walsall, we would like to invite young people to air their views and then act upon their solutions through their own social action project. As well as giving a young person their rightful place to tell us what is wrong, we’re giving them the chance to show us how it’s done.
We’re looking for young people who are ready to bring communities together through their own social action project in whatever way they wish. Bringing Walsall together through positive youth and community action.
If you know a young person or if you are a young person who would be interested in taking part in our creative consultation events including spoken word/rap, please send them/read the information below.
