Interfaith Week - Ramandeep Kaur Sandhu

I’m Ramandeep Kaur Sandhu from Guru Nanak Gurdwara Willenhall (GNGW). I work as a Lead Pharmacist for service delivery in Birmingham and Wolverhampton and I also teach at university.

I love reading, diamond painting, teaching others and learning classical kirtan of classical instruments.

My favourite quote is one said by the Tenth Guru, Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji:

'maanas ki jaat sabhai, ekai pehchanbo'

It means recognise the whole human race as one. This is our headline for GNGW.

Supporting the community during COVID-19, as a team effort, our gurdwara stewards have supported the running of the gurdwara. I have supported my fellow gursikhs delivering services across Walsall and Wolverhampton, where a daily free food collection and delivery service has operated throughout the pandemic. I also helped to ensure the gurdwara is a safe place to continue with the services, endorsed by national guidance.

My hopes and aspirations for Walsall are to welcome all, to have collaborative working across all faiths and cultures, reduce poverty, support the new generation of all faiths with good qualities to make Walsall a harmonious place to grow up, live in and settle in.
